How to know when you need to restring
Strings lose tension and playability over time, even if they have not snapped. If your racket feels different, less controlled or less comfortable, it may be time for a restring.
You probably need a restring if:
- Your shots are flying long more often than usual
- The racket feels dead, harsh or unpredictable
- You have lost spin or control
- The strings are visibly notching or fraying
- You cannot remember the last time it was restrung
- You play regularly and want consistent performance

— Sophie R., Bow“I wasn’t sure about string or tension, but the setup made a real difference. Much more confidence off the baseline.”
— Marcus T., Mile End“Really helpful guidance and a much better setup than I would have chosen on my own.”
— Aisha K., Hackney“The racket came back feeling excellent. Better control, cleaner contact, and quick service too.”
— Ben L., Canary Wharf“Super easy drop-off and collection. Loved the advice on tension.”

How often should I restring my racket?
A common rule is to restring as many times per year as you play per week. If you play twice a week, restring around twice a year as a minimum.
Can I bring my own strings?
Yes. Bring your own string and the stringing service is £20.
What tension should I choose?
Lower tension usually gives easier power and comfort. Higher tension usually gives a firmer, more controlled feel.
Do you offer 24-hour turnaround?
Yes, subject to availability. 24-hour turnaround is available for an additional £10.
What if I do not know which string I need?
Use the calculator on this page or contact us on WhatsApp and we’ll recommend a sensible setup.
